Chief Accounting Officer: Municipality Accounting Experience Required (Muni CAO)

Corefino serves as the finance and accounting department for a number of innovative companies in various industries in multiple states. Our customers receive the benefit of a highly-qualified accounting team managing their finance and accounting activities without taking on the cost of full-time employees.

As a rapidly-growing financial services outsourcing company, Corefino is looking for that rarest of individuals – an entrepreneurial, energetic and capable CAO to join as a manager of one or more of our accounting teams. You'll serve as the primary point of contact on finance issues for a small group of clients. You'll manage a team of people to meet the accounting and finance needs of your clients.

The CAO is responsible for providing Corefino customers with technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline. You will enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. You will be an advisor from the financial perspective and will plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the client's fiscal function and performance.

The ideal candidate must be a strategic visionary with sound finance technical skills. You will have top analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. We want an organized and self-directed individual who is a team player; an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills. You must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and on a timely manner. You must also possess the ability to juggle different clients in different industries.

Specific Municipality Qualifications:

General Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance.
• Masters degree and/or CPA preferred.
• At least 10 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in GAAP accounting and policy.
• Experience in government regulatory requirements and filings.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and report development including financial performance analysis, forecasting and budget preparation.
• Excellent information management and review skills for reconciliations, financial cycle and personnel.
• Must be a strong communicator and manager of client affairs and expectations.
• Proficiency with multiple financial software packages, particularly Blackbaud and Intacct.
• Experience in process integration with other ERP and financial management tools.
• Strong computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
• Must be comfortable with web technologies and working in the 'virtual world'.
